Newport put out Ryman League Potters Bar at Willen Road.
The visitors took a tenth minute lead through Newport skipper John Thorpe's own goal from a Harrison Barker cross.
Two goals in nine first half minutes handed the Swans the intiative.
Vinny Shrieves squared the game after 23 minutes, punishing hesitancy in the visiting defence, with Darren Lynch giving the home side a 32nd minute advantage with a spectacular overhead kick.
A Daren dykes goal twenty minutes from time gave Newport some breathing space.
They needed it as Jake Parratt scored a last minute penalty for the step 4 side.
